Clarifications on the Agility Regulations

Elementary

The Agility committee have introduced compulsory Elementary classes at ribbon competitions, and Elementary classes will also be allowed at Championship agility competitions.

The main intent was to encourage Clubs to promote the sport to new people by attracting them to competitions by offering Elementary, and as a result to build up the numbers of new people competing in agility.

The intention was not to give existing competitors another run, beyond the two per event already allowed for .

Elementary at Championship Events

Scenario: What happens if a club advertises that they are running an Elementary at a triple champ show

Can a dog that has entered elementary then enter the novices as well?
At Championship events, the Elementary Class is considered to be part of ONE of the set of Agility Classes. Dogs entered in Elementary 1 or 2 may not also be entered in the relevant Novice class.

If you pre enter and then win out can you still run elementary?
Yes, normal rules apply if you have pre-entered.

If clubs hold a triple should they hold a triple elementary
It is a decision for clubs to make.

Non Competitive Entries in Novelties

The rules for Novelty events are determined by the club running the Novelty. Not being a standard class, non-competitive entries can be accepted if the club wishes.

Transition method for Jumpers

Dogs qualified for Senior level agility on the 31st December 2008, will commence Jumpers at Grade B level for both Ribbon and Championship competitions.

All other dogs will commence Jumpers Ribbon and Championship competitions at Grade C level.

Correction to Jumpers Regulation 15.1

There are incorrect references in the Jumpers Regulations.

15.1.1.1 Eligibility to Enter Grade C, the reference to 16.2.1 should be 15.2.1

15.1.2.1 Eligibility to Enter Grade B, the reference to 16.2.1 should be 15.2.1, 16.2.2 should be 15.2.2 and 14.1.2.2 should be deleted.

15.1.3.1 Eligibility to Enter Grade A, the reference to 16.2.2 should be 15.2.2

New Agility Levy Procedure 2009

To All Agility Clubs

AGILITY FIXTURE LEVIES
Changes Effective 1st January 2009

Levies payable on agility fixtures are currently paid to the NZKC Central Office (on a per dog basis) and to the NZKC Agility Committee (on a per entry basis). As advertised in the December/January NZ Dog World, from 1st January 2009, these two levies will be combined into one levy (on a per entry basis) to streamline the process and to make it easier for clubs to administer. The initial combined levy will be set at $0.62 per entry payable prior to the date of the fixture. This figure was calculated so that the amount of levies paid under the new structure will be equivalent to the combined amount of levies paid under the old structure.

All payments are to be made to the NZKC Agility Committee who will be taking responsibility for the collection of these levies. Agility Fixture Levies will be payable on all championship agility fixture events including Jumpers classes and all AD/ADX Advanced Trials.

This change to the way agility levy payments are will take effect for all agility fixtures held on or after 1st January 2009. Levies for agility fixtures before this date are to be paid under the existing arrangements ie Separate levies for the Agility Committee and NZKC. Attached is a copy of the new levies form.
